Catwoman. Created in the 1940s for DC Comics, she has progressed a very long way since her inception. She began wearing stylish black dresses of the forties and a black cowl much like Batman’s. She moved onto the small screen in the Batman television show in the 1960s, played first by Julie Newmar and wearing skintight cat suits, if you’ll pardon the pun. From there her look changed forever. Now she appears to wear almost nothing. Her breasts are exaggeratedly large, and her costume appears so tight that every muscle and indentation in her flawless physique is perfectly visible. For example, one can very easily locate her belly button and the curvature of her abdominal muscles. How many women do you know with perfectly spherical breasts? The only things that have stayed the same in her costume since the forties are the cowl with cat ears, high cheekbones and long wavy black hair. I noted the previous differences in Catwoman while reading Trina Robbins’s book, The Great Women Superheroes.

this is a brief paragraph from an essay about women super heroes explaining how they are dressed and what the point of them dressing like this is basically how they are represented and the history of women in comic books

Hey Anika

I think your blog is good, wth the pics and stuff etc...newayz

1. I like the pichures you put up on your chosen text and the other texts your are going to use for your independent study.

2. The theorists you are going to use are similar to mine and your have mentioned Andrea Dworkin, a new theorist that we havent learnt which id good.

3. You have found research of an essay on super heroes and their dressing which is good because it shows you have done research on your topic.

4. The area of improvement could be, the chosen texts. This is because you could talk a bit more about the other texts you are going to use and them explain why your going to use them, which can benefit you.

keep posting up your work and well done!

Hey Anika!!

I Think its good how you are looking into the interviews with the stars, as well as analysing the film. As it helps you gain different perspectives into the film.

You should go into a bit more detail with your other texts which you have chosen.

But Overall, the pictures help make your blog stand out and it makes it more intersting to read.

Hello Anika
The topic you have chosen is very interesting.

You have made a lot of reference to modern texts that have come out recently, which will help you in your writing in the independant study.

You could add some historical background, which again will make it easier when it comes to writing the final piece also adding marks to your final grade

The theory you have added, such as Laura Mulvey is good because you have added other theories, which will give you many opinions to your work on feminism.

Well done so far!
